Child Care Options

Crocker families have a variety of before and after-school programs available to them, including local off-site providers. All programs offer walking or van pickup for participating students from Crocker Highlands Elementary at the end of the school day, and most offer homework help, snacks, enrichment programs and activities. These programs are not affiliated with Crocker Elementary in any way.

On-site Before & After-School Childcare

East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC)

Before School Program: Monday-Friday 7:00-8:30 AM
After School Program: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 2:45-6:00 PM; Wednesday: 1:30-6:00 PM

Eligibility: K – 5^th grade
Location: Crocker MPR
K students will be picked up from their class at dismissal time; 1st-5th grade students walk to the MPR after dismissal. Enrollment in before and after school programs are separate, and not automatic.
Activities: Games, crafts,  outdoor sports, playground time, and homework help

Off-site After-School Childcare

Kids ‘N Dance ‘N Theater Arts

Eligibility:  K – 5^th grade; 12 children maximum
Location: 3840 MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland (Laurel)
Pickup: Car or van pickup from Crocker
Activities: Homework help, gymnastic equipment, art, air hockey, outdoor play structure. Half off of dance and musical theater classes on registered after-school program days. Healthy snacks provided.

Lakeshore Children’s Center

Eligibility:  K – 5th grade
Location: 3534 Lakeshore Avenue, Oakland
Pickup: Van pickup from Crocker
Activities: Snack, homework help, free time, and craft/cooking projects. Day camp is offered for an additional fee when OUSD schools are closed for teacher workdays and breaks.

Activities: Many dance styles and tumbling

JCC East Bay

Eligibility:  K – 5^th grade; openings available year-round
Location: 5811 Racine Street, Oakland (North Oakland)
Pickup: Van pickup from Crocker
Activities: Various courses offered: arts, piano lessons, theater, sports, swimming lessons (seasonal), cooking and many more.

After School Arts Academy at Studio One

Eligibility: K – 5^th grade
Location: 65 45^th Street, Oakland (Temescal)
Pickup: Used to pick up from Crocker, but a parent reported that they no longer do that.  
Activities: Ceramics, painting and drawing, theater, comedy improv, dance, eco-art, paper crafts, sculpture, printmaking, textile arts, martial arts, swimming, tennis, basketball, and homework help provided
